(Disclaimer: this room was pretty difficult to photograph and edit since it’s so dark)

This was one of my favorite rooms to create when completing our house. Every single room in our home is very light and bright, so I wanted to do something completely different in here. I was really aiming for a very Mad Men feel and I think I got pretty dang close. I just love how swanky it looks and all the dark colors. I think that If I were a room, this would be it. The background is dark with bright touches. While thinking of what I wanted, I decided to go with a deep navy paint with a matte finish. I did not want any kind of sheen or shine. When looking at the room, I think that the Prada sign and the light fixture really bring the whole room together. It will make me sad to leave this house one day, simply because of all the hard work and personal touches we have added throughout. Through the whole process, I have realized how much I love decorating. It’s like styling an outfit but on a grander scale.  This work has definitely been a labor of love and an amazing first home.

xoxo,

Sarah
